A long time ago in a galaxy far far related we all used to make plans and even hang out without plans. And while things have changed, i have come to a truth about hanging out that needs to be shared. I miss all of you, and it was only when i called you all with at least two weeks notice that i had the chance of getting most of you. I then realized that its all my fault. I have been shirking my duties as the Pimp Dad Information Administrator. When one has no competition it tends to happen. So here is the first informative thread on the new Nethyr.com. The Upcoming Festivites Thread.

Jill and I will do New Years again if no one wants to do it.
Here's the problem: Are people tired of what we have been doing? Some people like going out, some people don't want to sit around a living room and play board (or bored) games, etc...
We need some real suggestions to make it more exciting and festive.
Are people willing to get trashed and crash all over the apartment? We can do that. But it kind seems that it is eat some food, watch the ball drop, play cranium, everyone's home by 1:30am. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind doing that. But it is something we could do on any weekend. So I think we need something that people will get excited about (beyond just spending time with each other).
It sounds like Frank and Kate's Halloween party was a hit. What suggestions would you make to make this years fiesta more excitable. (Naked twister is ALWAYS an option here!)

I agree. Stickied.
I should also mention that I dont need 2 weeks advance, and naked twister would be splended.
Pinata Rob, we found can be a most excellent party-time activity as well.

Ya know, I could make a whole forum area just for like... events and whatnot, if you think people would use it.

Devils Advocate here: What makes the "The Upcoming Festivites Thread" any different than the Events thread already in exsistence? Other than the catchier name! Frank, it is no ones fault ! You have been busy teaching and preventing stabbings! and that can take alot of of a man and even when you plan the perfect party {Octoberween} no matter how much time is given, some pimpdads will not be able to attend for various reasons: distance/extensive martial art training (josh) and important family functions which fall on Halloween Weekend (tom n jill). The key in my estimation is not a new thread but something Frank touched on "it was only when i called you". I do not denounce my own fault in this matter, but i do and have realized for a long time the phone (not just and answering machine) brings about a gathering much faster and more effciently. It does require more effort and persistance to arrive at a real person but the results are much greater than just posting it on a website. In addition the search for the "Holy Grail" of parties should end, Octoberween was near perfect. We gathered, great food (outstanding pizzas by Justin), good conversation, a pinata bashing contest, Tipsy Trixie, beating rob about the head n well just the head, women all over the place in various forms, clay boobs, Phyllis Dyler, and Jim's Mystery Science Theater 2005. What more do you need? The attempt to force the ultimate party is doomed to fail. Tom may I ask what gets you excited about a party? The answer to that whether it be beer, friends, midgets, or a myriad of other answers will be the obvious answer for most of us. If you are hedging you bets about throwing a party I will discuss it with Kim. Check out our holiday plans and throw a bash here.
If you made it this far here are some extra notes: NO NAKED TWISTER: I have no desire to see Tom, Jim, Pete, or Frank with there clothes off well ok maybe Pete (especially after halloween he looks good w/ red hair) For the PIA I feel strongly that the 5K should be included and advertised first and foremost in the Festivities calendar

Phone is obviously the best option for a party type thing, but this thread is nice for those things that are still a ways off and just a general listing of upcoming things to do. Also, yeah theres a forum section for events, but lets face it, noone ever goes there. This is fine.
I updated the activities list.

Hey everyone, sorry I missed the party at frank and kates. Was moving that day. I hear everyone on the whole we don;t hang out no mo , but people have different lives these days.(like me!!) I have always said growing up sucks, but in retrospect it doesn't suck it mostly a pleasent surprise. But it does keep changing, for good and for bad , but a great thing is callin one of your friends who you have not talked with in a while and feeling like you never lost touch, like that is priceless. I know I don't see all of you as much as I once did but i carry all of you close to my heart and always think of the memories we shared in fondness. What I'm trying to say is that even though sometimes we're worlds apart I know that if anyone of you ever needed anything especially an ear to borrow for a conversation you always got it here, and I know you all feel the same.
