Is it homo-erotic, sports-related haiku season already?

Well, as dendrophilic, car-enthusiast Terza Rima season just ended, I would have to confirm that, Bob.

so, if there is any silver lining for Yankee fans, it's that you get to go like 6 months without listening to Suzyn Waldman talk. She is awful, and I can't believe that she gets to do color for the largest sports team in the largest market. just awful. plum awful.
Sterling is no gem either. I'd rather just watch the game on ESPN.com than listen to those wordbags.
*sniff* THIS IS ROUGH *sniff*

Id take a million Waldmans over John Sterling. The man is a HACK! Enough with the stupid fucking nicknames and crappola for every player. He thinks all this retarded crap is gonna make him some historic ballgame announcer to be remembered for the ages, when all it really does is make us want to choke him. Just call the goddamn game and try not to announce a fucking homerun when the ball just got caught on the goddamn warning track you fucker!

Greetings from the new TitleTown!
OK, guess it was SOX in 4. HooRAY!
Now I get to drop more money on championship hats, shirts, and DVDs, which will all be marked down 50-75% in like a month.

Better to be a true fan of a bad tam for a while (trust me, I know) than a front runner for a winner.
Interesting thoughts circled while watching the game last night. We rooted for the Sox in 2004 simply because they got throught the Yankees and that they hadn't won a championship in almost 9 decades. Same thoughts and feelings I had for the Cubs this year. Kind of like a novelty. "Ah, wouldn't it be nice if Chicago (no, the other side) won a baseball championship." As we watched last night, expecting the same joy (all be it joy for purely selfish reasons) we realzied that the Red Sox are now just another team. No more Idiots. Just the start of another Evil Empire. We'll all see it as they sign A-Rod in 10 days.

hey hey hey. Sox aren't EVIL. They are a combo of homegrown talent and saavy free agent signings, which is exactly what the Yankees dynasty from 96-00 was.
Yankees didn't become the "Evil Empire" until they started losing and then just tossing $$ at stars (Giambi, Clemens, Damon, A-Rod, Matsui).
but you are right, this one is different from 2004, but still fantastic. Tom Werner (Sox co-owner) said postgame that "2004 was for our parents and grandparents, but this one is for US"
Sox are the standard.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The backlash has already begun. Soon the Red Sox will be as hated ( if not moreso) then the Yankees and that my friend is more impressive then any world series victory, especially with how little time it took for you to go from everybodys darling little underdogs, to Evil Empire v2.0.
