Well here I go again, as usually I need to get some heavy 
off my chest. About a year and a half ago the staff of the inpatient child psychiatry unit at Schneider Children's hospital was told that they don't make enough money for the hospital, therefor would be shut down. We were told over and over again that the hospital is a business and they could make more money if they turned the psych unit into a medical unit (Not to help more people but to MAKE MORE MONEY!!) So a little private hospital bought our psych license, they hired people with no psych experience or background..and haven't even finished building the place!!! So we come to find out that the head douchbag of Schneider's has had it out for the psych unit since he became the big wig going so far as to tell people "They have no place or business in this hospital" and here's a good one "If I could kick them out tomorrow I would" Apparently this individual got his medical license out of a crackerjack box and has probably never actually helped a patient in his life, my bet is his doctorate is honorary. Anyway to day marked the discharge of out last patient to a hospital that isn't fully built and is staffed with a pack of morons. I would just like to point out how over looked and belittled the field of psychiatry is, I have helped personally many children and I am quite in shock that I am being transfered to the adolescent unit, so I can basically work with criminals and the dregs of society, hopefully I can make a difference in one of their lives. So remember everyone when you or a loved one is in the hospital especially the North Shore LIJ health system...they just want one thing your money...JUST PAY YOUR BILL AND GET OUT!
