Dinner? Bar? Dave n Busters night? Hang-out at someone's home? Shots and Rock Band? You know I'm there regardless of the activity as soon as I get home.

Hey dan, that sounds cool. Sorry I didnt get back to you yesterday, but if the offers still on the table, its all good to me. Being as it is my birthday however I will need to levy a 10% birthday tax on all gambling winnings. Im sure you understand Just let us know what time is good for you and if you need anyone to bring stuff. Also what game system do you have?

Cool... People can start showing up at 8:00pm. I will pick up some burgers and hot dogs (I'll BBQ any other random food that people bring). I have some beer, but not a lot, so if you are coming and plan on drinking, bring some alcohol.
I completely understand that you (Jim) must take a cut of the winnings. I have a Wii.
Please give a shout out if you (anyone) plan on coming so I can get an estimate on how much food is needed.

so not only did you (pete) buy a xbox, but you also bought Rock Band?
This is huge. Pete's last console system was turbo grafix 16.

You remember my resume pretty accurately Tom, I still have that TurboGraffix. Yeah it came about that I had a means to get a ton of DVD quality movies / TV episodes on my PC, but watching movies on the PC, even on a 24" wide just wasn't that great so after getting the new TV I wanted to get them onto there somehow. I was going to buy a PC with HDMI out and 7.1 audio, but the prices for a decent system with that started around $8-900. While pondering that some geek friends told me that an Xbox could do almost the exact same thing I needed the PC for and for less than half the price. The only hitch was that I didn't have any urge to play console games, other than Rock Band. Anyway Jim ended up bringing over his Xbox so I could test the media center thing and it worked perfectly so I was ready to buy. I was over Jaclyn's place (you'll meet her tomorrow if you're there) and her and her roommate both said they wanted to try Rock Band too. It was a crappy weather day and we knew we were going to be wasting time inside so that morning I went out for bagels and came back with an Xbox and Rock Band. Pricey game, but well worth it for the laughs we had that day alone. I'll see if I can bring it out tomorrow. I'll warn you in advance though, there's socks strapped to my drum kit.

So are we all Xboxy now? Who hasn't drank the cool-aid?
I fucking love the thing, the media-center + video store is pretty amazing; it would be a fuckload better if it played nice with itunes, but oh well. I have to admit though, I don't really play a lot of games on it. Halo, and then whatever gets rented.

I'm sure it can't integrate directly with iTunes itself, but you can have it monitor your itunes folder as part of your media library. Someone sign onto Xbox live and friend me. I need someone to either rock out with or to blow me up.
