Boogie's a fun rental if you're into quirky rythm games.
RE4 is the current household favourite (where I spend most of my time with my eyes closed going "don't go in there!").
Harry Potter's interesting. It's kind of fun making the wand gestures, but they can be a bit wonky and the graphics look... off. Still, Harry Potter fans will probably like it.
I'm waiting on Mario Galaxies and I want to give Mario/Sonic olympics a go.
As for must haves, so far it's the Godfather and Monkey Ball for me. I can't say much else though, the 360 is my current gaming love affair.

Played Madden last night Vs... brother in Ohio.. worked well only had some small quirky problems with stuff like no huddle offense which could possibly be attributed to user error until further knowledge is acquired

yeah, rez evil 4 is fantastic. great graphics, very good mix of the controllers (using the strandard controllers, and the wiimote)
plus, there's nothing better than waiting for a zombie to walk 3/4 up a ladder, just to push it down to kill him.

I own Guitar Hero I-IV for PS2. The game is completely wonderful, and have gotten better with each progressing version. I do not own, but I have played it on the Wii. It has exactly the same and enjoyment levels.
Only difference: You can play versus on the Wii (big selling point) and I think you can download new songs if you pay (or that just might be for Xbox 360.)
I can stand behind you 100% in your thoughts to purchase it. And you are right. You will never get the homework done.

Downloadable content is not yet available on the Wii version, though it is on the 360 one. I have yet to play this round of GH. I'm kind of hesitant since Harmonix didn't have anything to do with it and a friend of mine who did pick it up didn't like it as much as GH2.
I did pick up Rock Band instead and I've got to tell you, I like this so much better than any of the Guitar Hero games. Harmonix really stepped it up with this one. There isn't a Wii version out for it and I'm not sure if one is even in the works yet, but there is a version for the PS2 (no online or world tour) if people are looking for an alternative to the PS3 and 360 for this.

I won't lie...the last one does have a different feel from the other three. But when I finally stopped comparing the two, I did enjoy then hell out of it.

I'll admit, that song list is really tempting. I really want to compare "Devil Went Down to Georgia" with "Psychobilly Freakout." And I want to compare the gameplay on the songs that are also in Rock Band (Mississippi Queen, 3's and 7's, Paranoid, Sabotage, etc). It'd be interesting to see how the two companies interpreted the same songs.
Oh who am I kidding, I'm just a fiend for these kinds of games and will probably pick up GH3 on a whim in a month or so.

RockBand has the same songs as GH3 right? What makes RB a better game then? I thought concpetually they were the same? Like I said, at first I really didn't like GH3 because I do think it feels different. I think 3 is easier than 1, especially because they made hammer ons and pull offs so much easier. I still can't get 5 stars on Bark at the Moon. I am a problem with video games themselves. Ever since I had the extrenl hard drive hookup and software to install games, I have not bought a game yet. I am waiting for an easy mod for the Wii, or a mod of PS3 (which i really want). I just can't get into Wii. I loved it at first, but it really is something you have to play with other people. I don't think it works for a lone player. The interaction is what makes it. Aside from that, no Wii game has still addicted me. They have pacified and given me a chuckle here and there, but still am not completely taken in. Besides I have no time to play. I should be making more awesome album covers.

They don't have the same playlists: Rock Band; GH3 though there are a few songs that overlap (hence the comparing). And, I believe though I could quite possibly be wrong, that more of the songs are done by the original artists in RB. The gameplay conceptually is very similar in the solo career modes for the guitar. RB lets you also play solo career modes for the Bass, Singing and Drums (bloody hard if you've never really drummed before). And I believe the online challenges and vs modes are similar, but I haven't ventured there yet so I can't say personally what that's like. The real difference is in the multi player mode. Oh. my. God! This is really where Rock Band absolutely shines above and beyond any of the GH games (that I've played). You get a group together (2-4 player) either in the same room or over the 360 live (or the PS3 online) and create your band. You can customize the name, hometown and motto of the group. Once you've done that, you head into the World Tour mode and get started in your hometown and work your way through the globe gathering fans, roadies, unlocking new, bigger, better venues. To gather enough fans to unlock some venues, your entire band has to actually up their level of difficultly to continue. It's a great way to see how much you've progressed (and how many hours you've wasted playing "Say it ain't so" on easy mode). The major difference between this and the solo mode are the playlists. There are different challenges set up in each venue, random setlists, setlists you put together and promoter challenges (e.g. "get an average of 4stars on each song to get double the fans! Fail and lose double", "get an average of 3 stas to get roadies", etc). These are great fun... and it's kind of nervewracking to get a 5 song setlist of random songs, praying that Boston isn't one of the tracks. The cooperative gameplay is fantastic. Depending on the song you have the opportunity to have a big rock ending... which is basically where everyone mashes the notes as feverishly as they can until you hit the last notes. (Which you must hit to earn the points from the big rock ending. Miss them and you'll also hear crickets in the background of the cheering fans.) Another great feature are energy (star power, shiny yay stuff, whatever you want to call it) bonuses for simultaneously getting your notes correctly. Say the guitar and drums have the energy notes in the same measure and both hit it, you get double the energy. And if you activate the energy at the same time, you get a higher multiplier. It's a great way to rack up points. Another fun feature is the saving of your fellow band members. Some songs are harder for certain instruments and in those instances, it may be hard for that player to complete the game without a boost up. If one character fails, you have thirty seconds to have one of you bandmates activate their energy and bring you back to life. I can't compare the drums to anything in GH3, they are lots of fun to play and more challenging than the guitar for me. But I really like the guitar that came with RB better than the previious iterrations of the GH3 guitar (incidentally, you can use the GH guitar with RB, so you don't need to buy an additional RB guitar to get a full band set). The RB guitar feels smoother to me, no more clicking from the strum and the distance between the buttons and the strum feel more natural. Ok, I didn't mean to go on forever about Rock Band.... but I do really like the game. As for the Wii not being for solo players, I'll agree with you as far as some of the games are concerned. If your gameplay leans towards puzzle games and minigame types games, then yes... those are hard to play solo for long and get boring quick. But there are a few very quality solo player, RPg, first person shooter, etc type games out there. Ones that spring instantly to mind; Zelda, Resident Evil, Godfather. Even Mario Galaxy to an extent is a solo player game. I think it's just a matter of finding the games that would best suit the mood you're in.

Godfather is a blast, to echo a past post. using the wiimotes to garrot, strnagle, and punch Barzinis, Tattaglias, Straccis, and Cuneos just can't be beat.
especially tattaglias.
It's like GTA, except good.
I got Mario Strikers Charged, too. Awesome multi-player, one of the best. your basic whacky mario sports game. Not a ton of fun single player, but neither was Mario Kart.
WHERE IS MY WII MARIO CART?!?!?!?!?
