Paco, I was being a sarcastic bastard, you sarcastic bastard.
I will say that I like that we have a nice stable of homegrown guys: Lester, Masterson, Lowrie, Delcarmen, Pedroia, Yoooooouk, Ellsbury, etc.
I like a nice mix of homegrown with some hired guns (Beckett, Drew, Bay)
And I'll say this: The NL with your shallow lineups, batting pitchers and double switches is a joke compared to the NL. The Blue Jays would dominate any of the divisions in the NL, and they finished FOURTH in the AL East.
My point is: Whatever AL team will beat any NL team in the WS.

Fuller, I love you, but you are a baseball retard.
AL teams are "better" because they get 9 batters rather than 8. that is about 3 extra hitters a game, almost 400+ extra at bats. It is not "pure."
THE DH IS THE WORST RULE EVER INVENTED IN BASEBALL.
Your "mangers" do not have to "manage." The pick the best 9 guys, assemble a line up, and tell the relievers when to go in.
NL managers have to think. NL managers have to clear the pitchers spot with a pinch hitter, know when to bring in certian pitchers, etc.
The AL run of better teams has only been in the past two decades. While the Yanks have their many championships, in the 50, 60, 70 and 80s, NL teams were dominant. Look at All Star W-L in the past. This AL is better thing is a recent phenominon.
I expect better than that.
P.S. When one league is where another's superstars go when they can't field any more, it is not elite.

Gotta agree with you there regarding the AL. If one needs proof, just look to the All Star game for the last 10 years Also tom your full of it. Yeah AL managers don't have to play around with pinch hitting for the pitcher spot (something which occurs only in a few innings per game mind you), but to say they don't have to know when to bring in specific pitchers or when to run plays like hit and runs or like that is retarded. Managers are constantly going to the bullpen and bringing in pitchers based on specific batters. They are constantly running plays and moving the baserunner along as best they can. Guess what, having a pitcher bat is a waste of a batting position and more often then not its a give away out. In the AL there are no such things, and no bats are to be taken for granted. If you think there's no managing involved with playing against what amounts to a stacked lineup then your cracked.

Jim, see the modification to my above post. Look back at the All Star games beyond the past 10 years.
The NL won like 10 in a row in the 70-80s.

Yeah this place is moving along too quickly to respond properly. I admit that the allstar game ebbs and flows between leagues. Thats why I made sure to say "in the last 10 years"

thank you Jim.
I'm no baseball retard, how DARE YOU! ;-)
It's not just the pitcher batting that sucks, it's usually the team's 7-8 hitters as well.
the DH makes the game way more fun. Pure or not, I don't want to see the game decided by some 4th or 5th OF off of the bench. I want Papi up there!!
Pitchers batting is the worst. It's the equivalent of letting the making the kicker and punter play on defense.
and regardless, the quality of the teams that have been put together in the AL right now is MUCH better than the quality of the NL teams. Look at the interleague records since 2005:
(AL Win/Loss) 2005 136 116 2006 154 98 2007 137 115 2008 149 103
That's a .571 winning percentage. That's the equivalent of 92 wins in a 162 game season.
DOMINANCE. even when the AL needs to send their pitchers to strike out.
and for GOD'S SAKE PLEASE do NOT cite All-Star game results as evidence of anything. it's a ridiculous exhibition, and the fact that homefield advantage in the world series is determined by who wins it makes me want to VOMIT IN ANGER.

I actually think having the all star game have some sort of meaning makes it slightly more watchable. If not for that, then really who gives a ? Its not like home field advantage is all that huge anyway. Its just a minor incentive. A team of true champions will stomp your regardless of where the game takes place.

one more to go!
The Soxaholix blog calls it "Brinksmanship", which is "the technique or practice of maneuvering a dangerous situation to the limits of tolerance or safety in order to secure the greatest advantage."

I was gonna say, it sure is quiet around this thread.
Interesting side note: Florida baseball teams have a perfect 100% record of winning playoff serieses (sp). Hope I don't jinx that cuz I sure as hell don't want to see the Phillies as World Champions.

tis better to have made the playoffs and lost, then to never have made the playoffs at all.
I'm no fan of either team, but I suppose I'd rather see the Phillies take it, based on their city's ability to make delicious cheesesteaks.

Don't sweat it bro!
At least you have the Bruins to get you through until April. And at least you have the Patriots to get you through until April. And at least you have the Celtics to get you through until April.
Oh wait...THE BRUINS SUCK! And THE PATRIOTS SUCK! AND NO ONE CARES ABOUT BASKETBALL.
