Because of the diabetis, the doctor will not let Jill got past her due date (babies with mom's who have gestational diabetis tend to be larger.) But if Jill doesn't go normally on Saturday and they induce her, she could get bumped by someone in labor, and therefore wind up going later than the doctor wants. but if she is induced on wednesday, and gets bumped or it takes a while (induction can take 8-48 hours to get going), she will still deliver by Sunday. make sense?

I'll do what I can. But if I get arrested for holding her legs closed and fighting off hospital staff, I'm calling you for bail.

Good luck! It can be long and grueling, so be sure to take some food along, and a assortment of nice drinks. Oh, bring a snack for your wife too.
Coool... new baby...

Bob, unfortunately for Jill, once she goes into the hospital, she is not allowed to eat anything until after she has the baby. I think they said it had to do with something about anethstesia (epidoral) or if an emergency c-section has to happen. Not really sure why tho.
Jeff, we'll take you up on that!

Try to say warm, encouraging things as you're enjoying them.

you could try the Michael T. Fuller plan (that's my dad)
-get blazin drunk on Pabst, or whatever people got blazin drunk on 29 years and 7 mnoths ago.
-chain smoke pack of Kools (you say "but Fuller, I don't smoke! neither did Big Mike)
-Have child who will grow up to be Pope of Chili-Town
-Remain married for 30 years.
awwww.
GOOD LUCK BUDDY!!!

I have a friend whose husband, during the birth of their first child, decided in the middle of labor that it would be a long labor, and he left and played 18 holes of golf. He got back in time.

Well I didn't go and play 18 holes, but I did come home once things got set. Jill was given the medicine to induce (they can give it up to three times) the first time, some minor contractions, but nothing serious. They give her the second dose at 9:30pm. It is gonna be a long night. Came home to grab a shower, a bite, a DVD or two, and I am off. Pray for quicker movement!
