A lot of the difference in numbers is because "autism spectrum" is much more widely defined than it used to be, so way more people are included in the numbers now, but you probably know that incidence is thought to have gone up on top of that, with no known explanation.
I agree that many people, when something happens, will assume that whatever preceded it was the cause, and I guess it's not surprising that "randomized, controlled, blind trial" means much less to most people than does an interesting story they heard from someone.

Along with that, and you know this being a parent x2, a million reassurances for the one thing tend not to calm the fears of the one said in contrast or warning. No matter what evidence is presented, however statistically significant, will not be strong enough to completely silence the negative thought. Also I am sure it is a part of Tommy being our first child, and wanting to limit the mistakes we will make. I am sure by our third, we will let him juggle mercury thermometers. I am sure it is just needless cause for concern.

man, you're already raising him to be a Mets fan. maybe by the time you get to your third child (Jose Reyes Lagan), you'll wise up and get him some Saaaawks gear.

One note of caution: medical advice can change. It's often impossible to do just what is needed -- randomized, controlled, blind trials -- in people, because of obvious ethical issues with human trials, and so conclusions based on correlational studies, even if done well, can occasionally be wrong. So don't sue me if your kid gets his shots and then grows horns out of his . I couldn't have predicted that, I swear.

If nothing else just realize that no matter how hard you try, as a first time parent, youre going to up with this kid in one way or another. Just accept that and realize that you are not alone in dealing with this, and we as a species have prospered in spite of this universal certainty. Young Frijoles is gonna be ok.

The little me is getting bigger and bigger. We're now up to two teeth! But we are somewhat lazy, too. No crawling just yet. Some babies never do; they just walk. Anyway, it's updated, and he's cute as hell. www.laganfamily.net
